(From 2016) Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre- formerly Uptown Amphitheatre

Rick Springfield just turned 67 years old on August 23rd. My phone was going dead and I couldn’t take many photos from the time we got there. I asked for Jay’s phone several times earlier. My husband is so funny!!! RS took off his shirt and Jay instantly took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to me ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. These are actually from my phone. But there’s no telling how many of these are on his phone. I have the best Husband ever. He has the greatest sense of humor. 67!

Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, NV. This show was worth the entire trip out there. I’ve since go na back and seen it a second time and I’d have no problem going back to see it again. Shoot, I’d go barrelassin’ all the way to Vegas JUST to see this alone!
Highly recommended! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

That timeย I wasย a single mother of three kids, and had to take out an actual loan to buy a VIP all access pass to see the Van Halen/Sammy Hagar Reunion Tour in 2004. I paid $450 for this pass. It was an eight hour drive from my actual hometown, and my mom refused to let me drive alone in my own car to see the show. In Mom’s mind, I had bought some sort of backstage pass that included Lord only knows what! Nobody I knew would pay that price to see the show with me; and what else was I supposed to do once I realized it existed? No other ticket would have been good enough! EVER!! Any-hoo, I was at work the morning they went on sale. The city was chosen for the difference in price, by the way. My boss made sure I was able to get to a computer a few minutes before they went on sale. I bought the pass and just couldn’t believe I was the owner of such a thing. Hell, I couldn’t even believe such a thing even existed, period!

My mom threw some gas money and fun money at her friend to drive us so she’d have someone to hang out with when she dropped me off at the show…I mean, when she walked me inside the building and asked the people in charge if this was a real thing and what would be going on exactly. She didn’t stop there; she asked me to show the rest of the fans waiting my Van Halen tattoo (even though she hated tattoos, I was suddenly cool), and then proceeded to ask them to please watch her daughter.
It was about half way through the party when the group of fans who had adopted me asked me how old I was. I started speaking of my three kids and they seemed shocked when I told them I was a thirty year old grown woman. Evidently, they thought I was in my TEENS when my mommy dropped me off and asked everyone to babysit me! I doubt very seriously that I could pull that off at forty-three years old now.
The show was great for me. Everyone was tickled and laughed when I was choked up at the sound-check because it was my “first all access pass” and these people traveled around doing this type of thing! What a life they must live! My heart hurt the most when Sammy and Michael seemed to be randomly signing things for people who had a Sharpie readily available. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
This is coming fromย the girl who threw away her “throw away camera”- no pun intended, because she was terrified that if she was seen with it, she’d be thrown out of the show altogether! I was not one of the people with a Sharpie, so I lost out. I’m still thankful to that lady who sent me my photos (that I altered a littleย for this postย since I printed them and from email back then!)ย or I wouldn’t have them to look back on and share today. This was years before Facebook and the Social Media craze. Now, Iย finally have tickets to see Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony again soon. If the world only knew what the ridiculous amount of effort I’ve put in to buying theย tickets…the right tickets, that is. I have two sets this time, and I didn’t even have to take out a loan to get them.

Enjoy, Barrelassers. ๐Ÿ˜‰

July 01, 2011 in Knoxville, TN. we attended the Taylor Swift: Speak Now tour!
There’s nothing a mother won’t do for her child, and that includes sit on a bench for two hours before the tiny music store in the tiny little mall opens its doors, only to wait another hour inside on the floor for Taylor Swift tickets to go on sale. My mother did those things for me when I was a child (Michael Jackson & The Jackson Five: Victory Tour!) and I’ve given the same courtesy to my own kids through the years.

It wasn’t quite the same as in those days, however, because I didn’t have to sit with strangers and fight a crowded line. The line was a virtual line on a computer and floods of telephone calls to the music store.
I was the only one there in person. They probably weren’t sure what to make of me. I must’ve seemed like a dinosaur or a cave-woman to the employees but they treated me wonderfully. Once the phone started ringing, and they were busy searching for my tickets already, they put people on hold because simply put, I was there first. One phone customer insisted to them “I know the owner of that store!” to which the employee responded, “I, too, know the owner, but there’s still a customer ahead of you.” Priceless! ๐Ÿ˜

Sometimes, the new way isn’t always the best way, and you never know what’s gonna happen if you never even try.
I was able to get my daughter, my younger sister, and myself, each, a perfectly good seat on the floor. We could see great and that concert was more like seeing an enormous Broadway Theater Proudcution than a concert.
As far as my eyes could see to the tip top of the arena, there were screaming, singing fans all the way around with signs and lights. As Taylor made her way around the top of the arena in some sort of moving carriage while she sang Love Story, I was stunned by the young man sporting a sign that read “Marry me, Taylor!”
It was magical. That young lady performed her butt off that night and it appears that she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I strongly recommend catching her show on any tour you can.

It would be such a waste to have this big field and not have Field Day that adults can enjoy also. Therefore, we didn’t waste it, but instead, we kicked off the first annual Barrelassin’ Field Day & “Brew” Ha-Ha!
Notice the spelling of brew ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿบ๐Ÿป๐Ÿบ

We had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again. It’s almost time to do it this year! Get your good shoes out! ๐ŸŽ–๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ

Enjoy, Barrelassers ๐Ÿ˜‰
